Donors Back Project for Huntington Senior

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): More than 100 people in Huntington are stepping up to help a local woman keep making her regular Walmart run.

3rd District Congressional candidate Todd Nightenhelser set up a GoFundMe page in honor of Janet Long, known around Huntington as the “Wal-Mart walking lady,” to help build a ramp at her home as well as make repairs to her sidewalk. The woman has been walking from her home to Walmart and back for years, but the page notes that she has developed difficulty doing so.

The page's $3,000 goal was met in less than a day, with many offering to donate in other ways, including labor and materials.
