DNR to Dedicate Steuben Property

ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): More outdoor activities for the area as the Indiana DNR opens a new park in Northeast Indiana.

Thursday, Governor Mike Pence and DNR officials will dedicate Trine State Recreation area in Steuben County.

The 200-acre property is located east of Pokagon State Park. It’s named for Steuben County business leaders Ralph and Sheri Trine who purchased the property and donated it to the DNR. The new recreation area was a church camp from 1972 to 2006.

The Trine family also contributed to the project by donating building materials for cabins and a lodge. You can find a map and more information at Trine State Rec Area.
