Detention Bill Passes Unanimously

A state Senate committee has given its unanimous approval to a bill that would prevent law enforcement in Indiana from helping federal authorities to indefinitely detain U.S. citizens suspected of terrorist activities. State Senator Jim Banks joined a group in saying that they fear the U.S. government will use the federal law to secretly hold Americans without court appearances.  According tot eh Journal Gazette, Any law passed in Indiana,  would only apply to state and local law enforcement and could not trump a federal law, pursuant to the United States Constitution.
