Defense Seeks Dismissal in Cop Shooting Case

A woman accused in the shooting of a DeKalb County police officer is seeking to get the case dismissed.  Attorneys for Julie King claim officers gathered evidence illegally with an invalid search warrant, according to the Journal Gazette. That search turned up guns, knives, ammo and drug paraphernalia.  King and Ralph Hardiek allegedly shot a Waterloo officer as he investigated reports of the duo having car trouble. Hardiek was killed after a manhunt. King is faces felony murder and other related charges.
