David Letterman Returning to Ball State on Nov. 30

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) _ Comedian and Ball State University graduate David Letterman is set to return to the school later this month with filmmakers Spike Jonze and Bennett Miller.

The university announced Wednesday that free tickets for the Nov. 30 appearance can be picked up from Emens Auditorium beginning Friday for students, faculty and staff and Monday for the general public.

The (Muncie) Star Press reports that Letterman gave Ball State national recognition during his reign as the longest-serving late night talk show host in TV history. He retired six months ago as host of The Late Show on CBS.

Letterman shared the stage at Emens Auditorium for a lecture series with Oprah Winfrey in 2012, Rachel Maddow in 2011 and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone in 2010.
