Darlington Man Arrested For Shooting Deer From Tractor

DARLINGTON, Ind. (WOWO):  A Darlington man has been arrested for shooting deer from his tractor.

Just after 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night, gunshots were reported in a rural area southeast of Darlington.  Indiana Conservation Officers located a wounded deer that appeared to be shot with a high powered rifle.  A few hours later at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, the officers made contact with 43 year old Daniel Crowe of Darlington and arrested him after he admitted to shooting the deer from the cab of his tractor.  Crowe says he was planting a bean field and used a SKS (7.62X39) rile to hunt the deer.

Officials say several charges will be filed with the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office for illegal taking of a white-tailed deer.
