Daniels to speak during Indiana University’s commencement ceremony…

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Graduating Indiana University students will hear from Gov. Mitch Daniels just weeks before he leaves office and takes over as Purdue University’s president.

IU officials announced Monday that Daniels would be the speaker for the Dec. 15 winter commencement ceremony in Assembly Hall on the Bloomington campus.

The university says some 1,400 students are eligible to receive bachelor’s degrees during the ceremony, with about 700 eligible for master’s or doctoral degrees.

Purdue’s Board of Trustees picked Daniels in June as the school’s next president. He’ll start that position in January after his second four-year term as governor ends.
