Dad: Teen injured parasailing has long way to go…

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The father of one of two Indiana 17-year-olds injured in a parasailing crash in Florida says his daughter “still has a long way to go'' in her recovery.

WRTV-TV reports Alexis Fairchild is now at Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana in Indianapolis, about 90 miles south of her Huntington home. Fairchild and Sidney Good of Roanoake were injured July 1 when their parasail line snapped and they slammed into the side of a condominium and hit a power line before striking a parked car.

Mike Fairchild said at a news conference Friday that doctors don't know how long she will remain in the hospital, but he feels she is in good hands. She suffered broken bones in the upper part of her spine, a skull fracture and a brain injury.
