Cyclist hurt in hit-and-run crash

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A 24-year-old Ligonier man suffered head, back, and neck injuries after he was hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in rural LaGrange County early this morning.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department tells WOWO News the crash happened just past 5am on County Road 800 South, in the area of 4750 West Road. The vehicle that hit the man’s bike fled the scene before police arrived.

The victim was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital.

Police say the vehicle in question has possible front-end and undercarriage damage. Anyone who has any information on the crash should contact the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department immediately.
