Counseling Services Available for Dwenger Students

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Below is a statement issued from Principal, Jason Schiffli to all Dwenger families regarding counseling services available for students dealing with the death of 17-year-old Haley Nellum.

BDHS will offer support during this very difficult and sad time as we grieve the death of Haley Nellum. The school will be open Tuesday, April 1 from 9 am – 3 pm, and Saturday, April 5 from 12 – 3 pm. Our Campus Ministry will be open to anyone who needs to simply talk and/or seek counseling. We ask that students bring pictures of Haley with them to create a memory book for the Nellum Family. We will also have Erin's House staff in our school all day on April 7 and 8.

If you need someone to help your student with their grieving, and are unable to use the services provided at BD this Tuesday or Saturday, you may contact Erin's House directly, at (260)423-2466.

Below is the funeral information for Nellum:

Funeral is at 10:30 a.m., at St. Charles on Monday, April 7th. The viewing is scheduled for Sunday from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., with Vigil Service at 8:30 p.m., at D.O.McComb on Maplecrest.

Nellum was killed early Saturday morning when a driver fleeing a shooting ran a red light and hit her car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
