Council to Consider New Haven Dispatch Request

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County Council will tackle the idea of upgrading New Haven's 911 system tonight. The community is looking at more than $105,000 to keep the emergency system operation.

The money will to make the system compatible with the Fort Wayne and Allen County's combined dispatch system.

That new system goes on line January 15.  If New Haven doesn't upgrade, the combined call emergency communications center will handle the calls. Sheriff Ken Fries is for the proposal.

Fort Wayne Police Chief Rusty York says the city's call center will do the job just fine.
