Coroner: Indiana Woman Found Dead near Pond was in Suitcase

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (AP) – The Henry County coroner says the body of a New Castle woman found near a northern Indiana pond last week was in a suitcase.

Henry County Coroner Steve Hacker says the suitcase containing 22-year-old Kirsten Sidwell's body was about 25 feet from shore. Sidwell's remains were found April 2 near Province Pond in an Indiana Department of Natural Resources wildlife area between Sulphur Springs and Mount Summit.

Hacker tells the Lafayette Journal and Courier (http://on.jconline.com/1CY7jLQ ) the cause of Sidwell's death is pending toxicology results. He says an autopsy showed no evidence of gunshot or knife wounds.

Authorities have arrested but not charged a suspect in the case.

Police say the woman hadn't been reported missing but her family was looking for her.
