Company announces expansion, plus 80 new jobs, for Huntington

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): Eighty manufacturing jobs are coming to Huntington.

Continental Structural Plastics, a company that specalizes in vehicle lightweighting technologies, announced plans Monday to expand its operations in Huntington.

It should be welcoming news for workers in the town who recently learned that UTEC was moving to Mexico and taking 700 jobs with it.

CSP will be spending $33.5 million to expand its operations at 1890 Riverfork Drive with a new 130,000 square-foot facility on six acres adjacent to its current 210,000 square-foot facility.

“Indiana is a global leader in advanced manufacturing,” said Governor Mike Pence. “CSP’s growth speaks volumes about this company and its talented Hoosier employees. The fact that Indiana is the home of the nation’s largest concentration of manufacturing jobs is a source of pride for this state. As CSP grows its operations here in Indiana, Hoosiers can rest assured that this administration will continue to pursue the kinds of policies that make our state a destination for investment and growth.”

Construction begins in June, and the new lines will be up and running by late 2017.
