FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Community Harvest Food Bank can give more meals this year thanks to a $90,000 grant.

Lincoln Financial Foundation gave the food bank the grant, which will allows the company to provide about 400,000 meals to residents throughout the year, according to Community Harvest.

The grant supports the food bank’s Healthy Family Initiative, which includes the Farm Wagon mobile pantry, Holiday Food and the Community Cupboard pantry. These programs help serve more than 45,000 individuals every year.

Community Harvest Food Bank President Carmen Griffith said the Lincoln Financial Foundation has always played a major role in helping those in our community.

“Lincoln is a prime example of neighbors helping neighbors get a hand up and for that we are grateful,” Griffith said.
