SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP): A former National Science Foundation director is scheduled to speak next week at the University of Notre Dame as the school continues its year-long series of events focusing on women in leadership.
Rita Colwell is a professor at the University of Maryland and at Johns Hopkins University and has been recognized for her work preventing the spread of cholera. She is scheduled to speak on the subject March 19.
On April 3, the forum will take up the topic of women in the life of the Roman Catholic Church in a discussion featuring Kathleen Sprows Cummings, director of the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism, and the Rev. Matt Malone, editor of America magazine. The talk will be moderated by Anne Thompson of NBC News.
