Colts’ Irsay helps Indy students get to Disney

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is helping musicians from a city high school cover the costs of a trip to perform at Walt Disney World in Florida.

The 54 Arsenal Tech students were chosen in December to perform during the park’s Magic Music Days, but many of them are from low-income families and couldn’t afford their share of the $42,000 trip.

WISH-TV reports students held fundraisers, organized benefit concerts and sought donations. Irsay urged his Twitter followers to support their cause.

IPS officials say Irsay gave the school a check Friday to cover the remaining costs.

The students will leave for Disney on March 31 and will return after two performances on April 5.
