Collision with INDOT Dump Truck Injures Columbia City Man

COLUMBICA CITY, Ind. (WOWO): A two-vehicle crash involving an INDOT dump truck, sends one man to the hospital.

According to officers with the Indiana State Police Department, the crash happened around 8:00 a.m.,Thursday morning on State Road 109 near Center Drive. 28-year-old Brian Elliott of Goshen, was driving the dump truck southbound on State Road 109 when he allegedly turned the truck into the path of 43-year-old John Barry of Columbia City. Barry was not able to avoid the hitting Elliott's vehicle.


As a result of the crash, Barry received severe injuries to one of his arms and was taken to a nearby hospital, however, his condition is unknown. Elliott was not injured, but was cited for failing to yield.
