Coats Statement on Nebraska Keystone Ruling

WASHINGTON, DC (WOWO): Friday afternoon, Senator Dan Coats, chairman-designate of the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement regarding the Nebraska Supreme Court’s decision allowing state approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline route through Nebraska:

For six years, President Obama has used every excuse in the book to avoid supporting the largest ready-to-build infrastructure project in the United States. This ruling removes another flimsy excuse that President Obama has tried to hide behind. The Keystone Pipeline has bipartisan backing and passed several environmental impact studies. There really is no excuse left for President Obama, aside from politics. Next week I will vote to support the Keystone pipeline, which will put Americans to work and move our nation toward greater energy security.”
