City Utility Bill Goes Up

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you live in Fort Wayne, your city utility bill is going up. City Council has approved a rate hike that will have the average household paying about $3 more– that’s about 19 percent. The increase will include maintaining fire protection like hydrants and water mains.  Fire protection maintenance is currently covered by property taxes. The city wants to free up that revenue, about $3.5 million, for other projects.
