City to Host State’s Public Access Counselor for Open Meetings

Fort Wayne, Ind. (WOWO): City leaders are bringing Indiana’s public access counselor, Luke Britt, to Fort Wayne, to give a public presentation about the state’s public access laws.

As the mayor of Indiana’s second-largest city, I am committed to openness and transparency in conducting the public’s business here at the City of Fort Wayne,” said Mayor Tom Henry. “We have put unprecedented amounts of data on the City’s website during my time in office, which allows anyone access to this information at any time. This session with the public access counselor is an opportunity for members of the public to have a better understanding of these laws that cover local government’s actions.”

The event is free and open to the public. It'll be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 30th in the Omni Room in the lower level of Citizens Square. Britt will cover the requirements for local government and the public, for Indiana’s Open Meetings Law and Access to Public Records Act.
