FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne City officials say someone has been calling several residents in Fort Wayne using a 260-427-8311 number indicating he is from the City of Fort Wayne’s 311 call center regarding garbage collection concerns.
They also say they have reports that the person calling has been using inappropriate language.
Officials say to ignore these calls. The City’s 311 call center staff is not calling residents.

In regards to the article “City of Fort Wayne warns of phone scam”. This is not a scam. My wife called the day before in regards to recycling not being picked up at our address and left a vm to call back at the number the jerk called back on the next night harassing her. A scammer wouldn’t have her cell number and know she complained. Only an employee would have access to that info.. The only way its a scam is if an employee leaked the info, but this still doesn’t explain why when I called the number back, it went to the 311 call center. It also doesn’t explain how they knew to only call the handful of residents who complained which were our neighbors with whom we speak too. Furthermore, you have some explaining to do seeing how you are now part of a bigger scam and cover up. Seems to me, someone convinced you to lie for them, and seeing how you need your credibility as a news agency, risking your credibility without a price isn’t worth it. So I’m thinking you took a bribe and seeing how their contract at Red River is on the line, they need someone to lie for them here.
I’ve been checking and haven’t noticed any response from WOWO or Celeb Hatch to your comment as of yet. This seems to give credence to your claims. I wish WOWO wasn’t just a recycling center for “news” from other sources. You may have to take your issue to a reputable news outlet for action. I hope you find the truth.
