FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne and IPFW are teaming up for a new mobile app for those who like to spend time outdoors.

The city’s greenways and trails department is working with computer science senior capstone teams at the university on an app that will provide information on the city’s greenways and trails system, including user-submitted content.

For example, someone using a trail that spots a downed tree could upload a photo to let other trail users, and the city, know about it, complete with GPS and time stamps.

There’s currently no set release date for the app, which is undergoing tests to address security issues.
