City Awards Commercial Facade Grants

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The City of Fort Wayne is helping businesses improve their image.

Tuesday, Mayor Tom Henry announced winners of the 2015 Commercial Facade Grant program.

Mayor says the city will provide $218,000 in dollar-for-dollar matching funds for exterior improvements including signage, lightning and siding. Businesses selected will also invest their own money into the project. That totals more than $685,000 in private funding.

In a press release, Henry said, “businesses improve their properties and attract customers. While at the same time, strengthening commercial corridors.”

Since beginning the program in 2009, the city has awarded $1.3 million to 72 businesses.

Another $3.8 million in private money has been spent on those improvements.

Ingleman Parrish Orthodontics; SAG Properties; B'Exquisite Salon & Spa, 223 E. Tillman
New Image Printing, 3233 S. Lafayette St., 
Sanco Industries, 1819 S. Calhoun St.,
The Old East End Building, 1501 E. Berry St.,
Trouble Brewing, 2725 Broadway,
