Car Crashes into Tree after Police Chase in Albion

ALBION, Ind. (WOWO): A Sunday morning police chase in Albion has four people in the hospital, after crashing their car into a tree.

Police tried to stop the vehicle at a gas station near the intersection of North Orange and West Jefferson Streets.That's when the car sped off, leading a Noble County Sheriff on a high-speed chase.

According to the Journal Gazette, the officer slowed down knowing there was a sharp curve to the right of the intersection of Oak and Jackson streets. However, the car being pursued continued and crashed into a tree.

All four passengers had head and facial injuries. Two of the passengers were taken by helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center, and the other two were taken by ambulance.

<span style=”color: #000000; text-align: start; letter-spacing: normal; font-size: 18px; background: #ffffff;”>29-year-old Jose Enrique Cuervas of Goshen was identified as the driver of the vehicle. One of the passengers was identified as Manuel Rojas.

No word if any charges were filed.
