Businessman Max P. Shambaugh Passes Away

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Former councilman and businessman Max P. Shambaugh has passed away.

He's a graduate of North Side High School, an Army Air Corps veteran and earned a degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue University. He joined the family business, Shambaugh and Sons Construction, which eventually his own son Mark would join in 1976. He even was elected to the Allen County Council in the mid-1970s and remained in politics for multiple terms. He was 93.  

The Journal Gazette reports funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, An additional calling will be held from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Huntertown Fire Department.
