SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -The owners of South Bend's tallest building are telling tenants they want them to move out so critical repairs can be made.
A South Bend real estate firm called the Bradley Company manages the Chase Tower building for New-York based Washington Square Realty. It said in a news release Monday that recent water leaks raised the urgency of needed maintenance from pressing to critical.
The company says most of the businesses in the building will be relocated within 30 days. The company says shuttering the building will allow the work to be completed faster.
Bradley Company spokeswoman Angela Brister says there's no time table for how long the work is expected to take. The company previously said it planned to spend $5.8 million to upgrade the 25-story tower.
