INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): He's in. Eric Holcomb has announced he'll run for Senate in 2016.

He made the announcement Thursday afternoon in Indianapolis.

Holcomb resigned Wednesday as chief of staff for U.S. Senator Dan Coats.

Coats announced Tuesday he would not seek re-election.

Before joining Coats' staff in 2013, Holcomb was the Chair of the Indiana GOP.
