Bowen Recovery Center to treat opioid addictions in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An opioid treatment program will open its doors in Fort Wayne soon.

The Bowen Recovery Center will hold a grand opening on Directors Row, just off Coliseum Boulevard, on June 13th from 4pm to 7pm. Governor Eric Holcomb and Mayor Tom Henry are among the dignitaries scheduled to attend.

The Journal Gazette reports that anyone with an opioid addiction will be able to show up during the center’s regular hours and ask for help, with no referrals necessary.

The 4,000-square-foot facility will be open weekdays from 5am to 1pm, and weekends from 6am to 10am. Fees are based on a patient’s income.

It’s one of five new drug treatment programs planned statewide.
