Body of Missing Marine Pulled from St. Joseph River

MISHAWAKA, Ind. (AP) – Police say the body of a missing Marine was recovered from the St. Joseph River in northern Indiana.

Thirty-three-year-old Jason Holland of Mishawaka initially was reported missing from his home last October.

Two Indiana Michigan Power employees conducting a routine inspection discovered his body Wednesday afternoon near the Twin Branch hydroelectric dam in Mishawaka.

A St. Joseph County coroner used dental records to identify the remains as Holland, and autopsy results determined there were no signs of foul play.

Joseph County Sheriff Michael Grzegorek says it appeared the body had been in the river for some time.

Holland was a student at Indiana University South Bend and served in Iraq as a U.S. Marine.
