Body Found in Northern Indiana ID’d as 15 year old

PLYMOUTH, Ind. (AP) – A partially burned body found in northern Indiana has been identified as a 15-year-old girl from Bremen, about 20 miles south of South Bend.

An autopsy performed Monday showed the primary cause of death for old Desirae Ann Kathryn Jones blunt force trauma. The South Bend Tribune reports the coroner did not indicate the manner of death, such as accidental or homicide.

Police say a man walking his dog discovered the body in the woods just south of Bremen about 8 a.m. Friday.

Russell Young owns the property next to where the body was found. He told WSBT-TV the area is known to locals as “Little Egypt,'' a popular meeting place for teenagers to park their cars and drink.

Indiana State Police are assisting in the investigation.
