Bishop Dwenger students chosen to co-lead National “March for Life” rally

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne Catholic high school will take the lead in a national protest of abortion.

Bishop Dwenger High School students will co-lead the national March for Life rally in January, traveling to Washington, DC to join pro-life demonstrators from across the nation.

The school has sent students to the rally every year since 2000. Students learned of the news this morning, including the news that they will carry the 40 National March for Life flags in front of thousands of protesters.

“Our steadfast commitment to the Pro-Life Movement, and the National March for Life, is just one of the many great gifts of our Catholic education,” said Principal Jason Schiffli.

“While we are certainly appreciative of this recognition, we accept this responsibility with heavy hearts and great humility.  We are mindful of the millions of babies who have died, as well as the men and women who have been hurt by abortion,” noted Carl Loesch, Secretary of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.

Vice President Mike Pence lent his support to the rally last year.
