Bedford Man Gets 65 Years In Rural Lawrence County Slaying

BEDFORD, Ind. (AP) _ A judge has sentenced a southern Indiana man to 65 years in prison for his role in the beating death of a man at his rural home.

Lawrence Superior Court Judge William Sleva suspended seven years of the sentenced handed down Monday to 20-year-old Taylor Flynn of Bedford for the February 2014 death of 43-year-old Rodney Allender of Lawrence County. The Times-Mail reports (http://bit.ly/1CG6J2O) Flynn will spend three years on electronic monitoring and four on supervised probation.

Flynn pleaded guilty to murder, conspiracy to commit burglary, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Authorities say money and guns were taken from Allender's home.

Flynn apologized to Sleva and said he'll never be able to forgive himself.

Two others also were charged in the case.
