FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One man is dead, another in jail after a battery victim died earlier this week at a Fort Wayne hospital.

Officer Michael Joyner of the Fort Wayne Police Department tells WOWO News 28-year-old Justin LittleJohn has been arrested and charged with a preliminary count of aggravated battery for an attack on 46-year-old Randy Dial of Fort Wayne. Dial was hospitalized after being found Monday afternoon at the Economy Inn on Coliseum in critical condition; he died the next day, and the Allen County Coroner's Office says the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

There's currently no word on if or when LittleJohn's charges will be updated to reflect the Coroner's ruling that Dial's death was a homicide, making it 30 homicides for the year in Allen County.
