Ball State Trustees Set to Decide on New President

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) _ Ball State University officials are set to decide on the school's next president this week.

The university says its Board of Trustees will have a special meeting Thursday on the Muncie campus to vote on the appointment. The new president will replace Jo Ann Gora, who is retiring in June after 10 years leading the 18,000-student university.

Search committee chairman Wayne Estopinal said last month the names of the finalists were being kept confidential but that the group didn't include political figures or current business executives.

Estopinal says the finalists were picked from among 22 applicants who were first reviewed by an executive search firm.
