MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) – A Ball State professor is being honored by the Indiana Historical Society for his efforts to tell the state's stories.
The Star Press reports (http://tspne.ws/12nqTD0 ) Ronald Vaughan Morris will receive the 2014 Dorothy Riker Hoosier Historian Award on Monday in Indianapolis.
The award honors historians who've made distinguished contributions to historical scholarship or the activities of the historical society.
Morris has published numerous books about creative ways to teach elementary school social studies. His students have created video games, apps and other teaching tools on topics such as state and local Civil War history.
