Avilla police catch break in Hey’s Tap robbery

AVILLA, Ind. (WOWO): Officers looking for the two suspects that tried to rob the Hey’s Tap in Avilla, may have caught a break in the case, as one suspect has turned herself in.

Arrests warrants were issued for Kristopher Gordon for Theft and Khala Schweiger for Theft and False Informing after the bar was robbed Saturday, Nov. 12.

After a lengthy investigation, officers from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, along with the help of officers from several other police departments, learned that Schweiger, conspired with her boyfriend Gordon, to steal from Hey’s Tap. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that no firearms were used in the theft.

On Tuesday, Nov. 22, officers received a call from Schweiger stating that she was ready to turn herself in. She was taken to the Noble County Jail and booked.
