Authorities Serve Warrants for Heroin Trafficking at Two Local Hotels

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Several drug enforcement agencies joined together to serve warrants to shutdown heroin trafficking at two local motels.

On Friday, the warrants were served at Motel 6 and Knights Inn. 35-year-old Kijuan Adams of Battle Creek Michigan was arrested in the parking lot of the Motel 6 on West Coliseum and the warrant was served which yielded only paraphernalia.

Earlier, Adams was seen leaving room 133 at the Knights Inn on Goshen Road. Once officers went into the room, they found three men inside and a strong smell of burning Marijuana. The three men were removed and a warrant was obtained for the room along with room 144, both of which were rented by Adams. The search of room 133 yielded 1.2 grams of Spice, 10.4 grams of marijuana and 9.3 grams of Heroin. The search warrant at room 144 yielded 67 grams of Spice and a loaded 9mm handgun.

Bond for Adams was set at $250,000 for five 5 counts of dealing heroin.

33-year-old Mario Lorenzo Edwardo Burton of Battle Creek, Michigan was arrested on the following two warrants:

1)    Probation violation and

2)    Body Attachment for back child support

The other men in room 133 were arrested on Misdemeanor charges. In the meantime, the investigation continues.
