Authorities Discover Dead Dogs in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities in Cass County are now looking into the deaths of 25 dogs and one cat — all found dumped in drainage ditches, and some with gunshot wounds.

An investigation began last week after 13 dead dogs were found in two separate ditches. The bodies of five more dogs and a cat were found Tuesday in a ditch behind Grissom Air Force Base.

Another seven dead dogs were found Wednesday along a county road. All of the dogs found within the last week are Bluetick coonhounds including 12 puppies.

Police said there are no leads on suspects, but the humane society is asking for donations to help fund a reward.
