Authorities Bust Indianapolis Marijuana Growing Operation

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Authorities say they've seized about $250,000 worth of marijuana and taken four people into custody following a raid on a growing and processing operation inside a south side Indianapolis warehouse.

Indiana State Police Master Trooper Dan Madison says the raid conducted Wednesday by the FBI, Drug Enforcement Agency and state and local police seized at least 300 marijuana plants each 6 feet tall and $40,000 in cash.

He says two suspects are from Indianapolis and two from the Batesville area.

Madison says the operation also was making honey oil in large amounts to help process the marijuana into edible forms.

The DEA says the bust was the largest ever of an indoor marijuana growing operation in Indianapolis.

Authorities say the owner of the rented warehouse was unaware of the operation.
