ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO):  An arrest warrant has been issued for an Indianapolis man after an episode of shoplifting at Von Maur turned into an armed confrontation. </p>

According to the News Sentinel, 33-year-old Wesley Fields entered the Von Maur at Jefferson Pointe on November 7th, 2013. Surveillance cameras recorded him talking several articles of clothing into the fitting room. When he came out, he had fewer shirts.

A store employee suspected that Fields may have hidden a shirt under his clothing.  The employee followed Fields out to the parking lot and approached his car. According to the employee, that’s when Fields pulled a gun and told the employee to get away. Fields then took off.

Officers got the chance to question him in December after he was jailed on an unrelated matter in Huntington County. According to court documents, he admitted that it was him on the surveillance video in the Von Maur, but denied committing a robbery.

He’s been charged with robbery, a Class B felony; unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a Class B felony; and theft, a Class D felony and an Allen County warrant for his arrest has been issued.
