Armour Eckrich Meats recalls 90,978 pounds of sausage products

NATIONWIDE, (WOWO) – Over 90,000 pounds of ready-to-eat sausages are recalled by Armour Eckrich Meats, LLC, as they may be contaminated with foreign materials.

The U.S. Department of Argiculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced there may be pieces of metal embedded within the products.

The fully-cooked pork, turkey and beef sausages were produced and packaged from April 26 through April 28, 2017.

The following products are subject for recall:

  • 16.6 oz. vacuumed packages containing “ECKRICH SMOK-Y CHEDDAR BREAKFAST SAUSAGE, NATURALLY HARDWOOD SMOKED”
    • Case code/UPC number 27815 1798
    • Use-by date 08/17/17

These products were shipped to distribution centers in Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.

So far, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products, but those who have purchased the sausages are urged not to consume them.
