Armed Robbery Investigations

Fort Wayne Police Department Detectives Seek to Identify Robbery Suspects in Related Robberies

Fort Wayne Police are currently investigating two gas station armed robberies that happened today; one just after at 4:30 a.m. and the other just after 6:30 a.m.

Around 4:45 a.m. officers responded to the BP gas station at 900 Coliseum Boulevard in regards to an unknown problem.

Once they got there, officers learned that an armed robbery had occurred.  The gas station clerk told them that a black male approached him and put a gun to his head.  The suspect told the clerk that this is a robbery and demanded money.  The clerk also said that there was another suspect taking the cash register.  The clerk was then threatened and hit a few times by the suspect with the gun.  The suspects took the cash register and the clerk’s wallet and then took off in an unknown direction.

Roughly two hours later another call came in regarding an armed robbery at the Marathon gas station at 6520 Lima Road. Officers made the scene and were told by the clerk that a younger male suspect wearing a black hooded sweat shirt with the hood up and black pants pointed a handgun in his face and demanded money.  The clerk then added that the second robber in his early twenties began yelling at him to open the cash drawer. The clerk then opened the drawer and handed it to the robber.  The suspects then fled North with an unknown amount of money.

As of right now, police are thinking that the robberies are linked and committed by the same two male suspects.

One suspect is described as being in his early twenties, black male, between 5’3 and 5’9, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt.

The other suspect is described as being a lighter skinned male black, slim, with no facial hair wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants, in his early twenties between 5’8 and 5’9.

If you have any information about the suspects call police at (260) 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-STOP (7867).
