FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One of Fort Wayne's most notable neighborhoods will be highlighted in ARCH FW's Home and Garden Tour.

From 10 to 4 p.m. Saturday, You can tour experience the distinctive architecture of Forest Park first hand with open houses in the North Side neighborhood.

Michael Galbreath is the executive Director of ARCH and he says from about 1910 to 1930 this was the place to be.

“As people moved of the downtown central walking areas, this became one of the most fashionable areas, very, very rapidly.

From an ARCH press release:

Each June, ARCH hosts an Historic Home and Garden Tour that features one of Fort Wayne’s notable neighborhoods or architects. We work with these neighborhoods to plan and provide tour-planning expertise and split the tour’s proceeds so that both organizations can continue and complete historic preservation projects. Tours are strategically designed to be managed in an afternoon and often include a special guest lecture relating to the neighborhood’s key features on the previous evening.

<span style=”font-size: 16px;”>2014's Home Tour will feature the homes of Forest Park Boulevard. The last time, we featured the magnificent homes of this northside gem, we had almost 2000 people attend. New to the tour this year will be a food and art fair on the Boulevard. The tour will be held on Saturday, June 28th from 10-4pm. Tickets $12.00/Advance, $15.00/Day of Tour, Children 12 & under free with adult.
