Appeals Court Won’t Hear Angola Showgirl Case

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Another blow to an Angola adult night clubs legal battle.

A request to have the case reheard was denied Tuesday by U.S. Court of Appeals in Chicago.

Last month, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court's ruling that Showgirl's owner, BBL Inc., began construction on the property, violating the City of Angola's building permit requirements.

In August of 2012, Alva Butler, the owner of the company, filed suit after he bought a restaurant building on North Wayne Street to convert it for adult entertainment.

Butler claimed the city changed building and zoning codes after he purchased the property.

Attorneys for Butler, told the Angola Herald-Republican, they'll continue to challenge the's ordinance on adult businesses.
