Appeals Court Rejects Appeal in 1997 Murder Case

CHICAGO, Ill, (WOWO): A federal appeals court has rejected an appeal by a convicted killer from Fort Wayne.

In 1997, Joseph Corcoran shot and killed four at his home on Bayer Avenue. He was convicted of murder in each death.

According to the Journal-Gazette, the 40-year-old Corcoran has filed appeals, each has been rejected. The latest, the fourth attempt, challenged how Allen Superior Judge Fran Gull handled the case.

The 7th Circuit of Appeals, upheld the ruling. His case has gone been heard by various state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

According to court records, Corcoran killed his brother, other friends and his sisters friends in in July of 1997.
