Annual WOWO Fire Drill Planned for Fire Prevention Week

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): As part of National Fire Prevention Week, WOWO continues a longstanding tradition; the WOWO Fire Drill. Wednesday marks the 68th annual citywide drill where students from several schools will take part in evacuating their buildings to promote fire safety. This year's host school is Croninger Elementary on Trier Road. During a special WOWO broadcast, a Croninger student will sound a fire alarm with the help of Fort Wayne firefighters.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department is using the week to remind local residents about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home and testing them monthly. They'll be hosting educational activities to help residents learn more about the importance of working smoke alarms and testing them regularly.
