Annual Battle of the Badges Takes Place in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Battle of the Badges is one of the largest blood donations in Fort Wayne, with the annual event featuring emergency responder groups who volunteer to help out the community.

According to our partners in news at 21Alive, the local law enforcement participating includes Fort Wayne Police, the Allen County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police. They are versing the fire and EMS responders associated with the Fort Wayne Fire Department and Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.

Volunteers can also participate and vote for their favorite emergency responder group.

21Alive reports the Fort Wayne Donor Center is located off California Road, across from the Memorial Coliseum. Donation hours include: 

Dec. 8: 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Dec. 9 – Dec. 11: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Dec. 12: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Dec. 13: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Dec. 14: Closed
Dec. 15- Dec. 18: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Dec. 19: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Dec. 20: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The Lutheran Hospital Donor Center is located off  W. Jefferson Blvd.in the South Lobby of Lutheran Hospital. Donation hours include:
Dec. 8 – Dec. 9: Noon. – 6 p.m.
Dec. 10: Closed
Dec. 11 – Dec. 13: Noon. – 6 p.m.
Dec. 14: Closed
Dec. 15 – Dec. 16: Noon. – 6 p.m.
Dec. 17: Closed
