Animal Care & Control Seeks Leads in the Cruelty Investigation of a Dog

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Officials with Animal Care & Control are looking for answers in a cruelty investigation involving a dog that was found last month.

They’re trying to identify the owner of the dog recovered on March 24th along South Barr Street.

The dog is described as a red and cream colored, male cattle dog mix approximately 2-3 years old. The dog was discovered with open infected wounds on his feet and hind quarters, was covered in animal waste and weighed less than half his expected weight. Both eyes were severely infected.

During two weeks of care at the shelter, the dog has double in weight and is expected to make a full recovery. He will be made available for adoption to a home where his special circumstances can be met.

Anyone with information that can help authorities locate the owner of the dog is asked to contact Animal Care & Control by calling 260-427-1244.
