Angola Man Arrested for Allegedly Firing Shots to Stop a Vehicle Repossession

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Police arrest an Angola man for allegedly shooting a firearm, to try and stop his friend’s vehicle from being repossessed.

Just before 7:30 p.m., Wednesday night, officers with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of a road rage situation on US 20 near the LaGrange County line.

According to witnesses, an argument broke out between 40-year-old Michael Sutera and the individuals who were repossessing the vehicle.

Sutera was reportedly trying to help a friend, who the vehicle was being taken from. That’s when Sutera allegedly fired at least one shot at the vehicle that was going to be repossessed.

Once Sheriff’s detectives from Steuben County arrived, Sutera was taken into custody and booked into the Steuben County Jail on one count of criminal recklessness with a firearm and one count of pointing a firearm, both class D felonies. He later posted a $1,000.00 bond and was released.
