Allen County Residents Named to New Ag Panel

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Two Allen County residents have been named to the Indiana Grown Initiative Commission.
The recently created commission seeks to build awareness for products produced by Hoosier agriculture.

Pete Eshelman of Roanoke's Joseph Decuis restaurant and Margaret Asher of Fort Wayne advertising firm, the Asher Agency were named to the ten member panel by Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann.

According to a statement released by Ellspermann's office, “The Indiana Grown program will be an effective way to promote the variety of food and beverage items produced by our own Hoosier agriculture industry. I am grateful that for the leadership that this group of volunteers representing a variety of interests will provide for the Indiana Grown program.”

The ISDA takes the lead in connecting businesses that use or sell agricultural products such as restaurants, grocers, wholesalers, processors, and farmers’ markets with Indiana-based producers of meat, fruits, vegetables, wine and forest products.
